Brnovich: Lawyers Handling Arizona Child Welfare Cases Overwhelmed

The number of children in state care has ballooned to more than 17,000 — that’s the highest figure in more than a decade.

Arizona’s Attorney General Mark Brnovich said his office needs more funding to take care of all the kids.   

Brnovich is making an impassioned plea for more state funding to hire lawyers to clear a huge backlog of legal cases in the state’s child welfare system.
