The Valley View Community Food Bank in Sun City is facing the threat of closure.

Jesse Ramirez, who runs the food bank, said they feed nearly 400 families on a regular basis. But the food bank near 107th Avenue and Peoria Road is behind on rent and only has a few more weeks’ worth of food to pass out.

"I’d have to stand out here and tell them, ‘Today we can’t serve you.’ And, I don’t want to do that. I want to be able to say, ‘Come on in, doors open,’” Ramirez said.

Ramirez said he hopes his landlord will give him a few more weeks to stay open while the food bank reassesses its finances.
