A man works to connect a generator at St. Mary's Food Bank Alliance after monsoon storms knocked out power on Aug. 31.

It will take another week or two before St. Mary’s Food Bank fully recovers from last week’s storm. Spokesman Jerry Brown said the power outage, which affected coolers, forced the food bank to lose about $100,000 in dairy products.

“You wouldn’t normally go out and buy milk as a food bank," Brown said. "You would mostly invest in non-perishable products and pick up the milk from store routes, so when those coolers went out, a lot of that stored food had to go.”

Brown said there is a limited supply of eggs and milk. Since the storm, the food bank has gotten more than $50,000 in donations.
