Undocumented Immigrants Arrested Near Gila Bend

Eight undocumented immigrants have been arrested in the desert southwest of Gila Bend. Border Patrol Spokesman Douglas Choi said while none of them were transporting drugs, they did have communications gear, water, camping supplies, and one even had a loaded handgun.

“These men were in this area to scout out activities for smugglers and find better smuggling routes and stuff like that," said Choi.

Choi said Cabeza Prieta National Wildlife Refuge has long been a popular smuggling corridor.
