Arizona’s legislative sessions would be better if they were shorter, at least that is what some state lawmakers think. Proposals either formally introduced or being prepared for consideration would set firm deadlines on the length of regular sessions.

The Arizona Capitol Times reports that regular sessions in recent years have run well past lawmakers' 100-day targets. In 2009, a budget fight led to a 172-day session.
