Last month was one of the warmest Januaries on record, according to the National Weather Service.

Meteorologist Valerie Myers says in addition to temperatures, we had no rain during January.

“The normal precipitation would have been oh, just shy of an inch of rain, .91 inches,” Myers said. “You can definitely see that we were considerably drier and warmer than what we should have been.”

Myers said last month was the third-warmest January on record with an average high temperature of more than 73 degrees, and an overall average temperature of nearly 60 degrees.

But she said we can expect the high temperatures to change in the days ahead.

“We do have at least some unsettled conditions that we’re going to be dealing with for the next week,” Myers said. “Temperatures here are going to be vacillating around in the 60s a little bit, anywhere from the low 60s to the mid-60s.”

The high temperature for the month was 81 degrees on Jan. 21.
