Only 5 percent of students who applied to Stanford this year got in. That figure is less than half of what it was 10 years ago. What gives accepted students their edge?
Box Of Raw Bird Eggs Seized At Phoenix Airport
PHOENIX (AP) — A passenger aboard an international flight has been questioned at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport after authorities found a box of raw bird eggs in her suitcase.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection agriculture specialists referred the woman on a flight from Kenya via London for an intensive agriculture inspection upon arrival in Phoenix. They said the small plastic container had 103 small eggs inside it. When asked, the owner claimed they were to be used as medicine for her heart.
Authorities say the prohibited eggs were seized under a regulation that restricts their importation. The eggs were later destroyed.
The woman was not fined but was told not to carry the item on a future flight. Her name was not released.
