Court hastens disbarment for former assistant county attorney

May 30, 2012

Former assistant Maricopa County Attorney Lisa Aubuchon has lost her latest attempt to hold on to her law license. She was disbarred for a series of ethical violations. KJZZ's Al Macias reports.

Aubuchon and former county attorney Andrew Thomas were disbarred in April for ethical violations in connection with failed prosecutions of county officials and judges.

Aubuchon has appealed the disbarment. She had also asked the Supreme Court to allow her to continue practicing law while her appeal was considered.

The court said no and gave her until July 2 to take care of her current clients, at which time the disbarment will go into effect, pending the outcome of her appeal. No hearing has been scheduled that proceeding.
