TUCSON, Ariz.  — Tucson officials said two police officers suspected of involvement in a prostitution ring have resigned.

The Arizona Daily Star reported Sunday that Tucson City Attorney Mike Rankin confirmed two officers on paid administrative leave resigned.

Rankin said they will likely still be under investigation criminally by the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

Officials said five other officers are also being investigated.

Police Chief Roberto Villasenor said no officers' names will be released until after the investigation and the appeal process.

DPS officials said their investigation will be finished within the next 30 days.

Since January, the police department has learned at various times that at least four officers may have been involved in criminal activity at local massage parlors.
