2 Tiger Cubs Get New Home In Northern Arizona

PHOENIX (AP) — Two tiger cubs found in Phoenix-area backyards have found a new home at a wildlife park in northern Arizona.

Arizona Game and Fish officials on Tuesday transferred the cubs to the Out of Africa Wildlife Park in Camp Verde. One of the cubs was found in a Phoenix backyard on New Year's Eve, and the second tiger was found three days later in Queen Creek. Both tigers are eight months old and weigh about 200 pounds.

Game and Fish officials believe the tigers are owned by the same man and likely were legally purchased in another state, but they said the animals' owner will be cited when he is located, because Arizona prohibits the possession of all wild carnivores.
