New Chairman Picked For Maricopa County Board
PHOENIX (AP) — Maricopa County Supervisor Denny Barney has been elected as chairman of the Board of Supervisors.
Barney was unanimously selected for the leadership post Wednesday by his fellow supervisors. He replaces Supervisor Andy Kunasek as chairman. Kunasek remains a member of the board.
Barney was elected to the board in 2012. After getting elected to chairman post, Barney said his priorities included the county's fiscal health, replenishing its financial reserves and running government with transparency.
