Tatyana Garcia joined KJZZ in May 2015 as a news intern. She is a current student at the Arizona State University's Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication with a minor in psychology.
Garcia's interest in journalism sparked when she became involved in her high school's television news program, as well as the school newspaper as a reporter and features editor. In 2013, she won two Superior Arizona Interscholastic Press Association awards for Feature Page Design and Story Package.
At the Cronkite school, she was involved in the YouTube-based news show, The Outlier, in 2014. Garcia aspires to be involved with investigative journalism in the broadcast spectrum upon graduation.
In her free time, Garcia enjoys social Latin ballroom dancing, baking and watching Audrey Hepburn movies.
