Arizona Population Among Youngest In The Country
New numbers from the U.S. Census Bureau show Arizona has one of the younger populations in the country. 75.5 percent of its residents are at least 18 years old.
Arizona’s percentage was lower than the national average, 76.7 percent. And, only 10 other states have lower percentages, including Texas, Oklahoma, Idaho, Alaska and Utah, which had the lowest at 69.1 percent.
Among the states with the most residents 18 and older were Vermont and Maine. Each has more than 80 percent of their populations who are in that age group. The District of Columbia has nearly 83 percent of residents that are at least 18 years old.
Arizona’s three other neighbors, California, New Mexico and Colorado also have higher percentages of residents who are at least 18 years old.
