How does the U.S. compare to the rest of the world when it comes to food sustainability?
Kristy Westgard is an Arizona native studying broadcast journalism at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism as well as Supply Chain Management at the W.P. Carey School of Business. These two disciplines converge in the business-centric reporting work she does with KJZZ.
Journalism initially sparked Westgard’s interest out of a desire to avoid living life out of a cubicle — a genuine interest in journalism itself soon followed.
She has contributed to the Downtown Devil, a student-led news publication covering all things downtown Phoenix. She also began dabbling in broadcast journalism while working behind the scenes to help produce live evening broadcast’s for Cronkite News. In the past year, she has worked with the Reynolds National Center for Business Journalism and has contributed to the Phoenix Business Journal and the Arizona Republic.
On her free time, Westgard can be found dancing ballet around the Valley or testing out new recipes for friends and family.
