Man Pleads Not Guilty In Ariz. Prostitution Bust

December 24, 2013

PHOENIX (AP) — A Maricopa County juvenile detention officer accused of maintaining a house of prostitution in Chandler has pleaded not guilty in the case.

County prosecutors say 30-year-old Adam Munoz entered his plea yesterday. His next court date is on Feb. 5.

Chandler police arrested Munoz on Dec. 4 following an undercover investigation that started in September when detectives got a tip about an illegal massage business. Police documents say undercover officers discovered patrons would enter Munoz's apartment and exchange money for a massage and sexual favors from women. Munoz allegedly would then receive $50.

Chandler police said Munoz also was accused of illegal control of an enterprise. They said Munoz was working as a Maricopa County juvenile detention officer at the time of his arrest. His current job status is unclear.
