Former deputy county attorney appealing disbarment
Former Maricopa County Deputy Attorney Lisa Aubuchon is appealing her disbarment. Aubuchon and former Maricopa County Attorney Andrew Thomas were stripped of their legal licenses last week. KJZZ’s Al Macias reports.
AL MACIAS: Aubuchon and Thomas were disbarred after a disciplinary panel upheld more than two dozen ethical misconduct charges against each of them. Aubuchon has filed an appeal with the state Supreme Court. Her disbarment is scheduled to begin May 10. She is also asking that her disbarment be postponed until her appeals are completed. In her request she says she is no longer a deputy county prosecutor and is working as a private attorney with active clients and pending trials. She says there have been no bar complaints against her during the two years she has worked as a private attorney. Meanwhile former County Attorney Andy Thomas has not said if he will appeal his disbarment.
