The Valley saw record-breaking temperatures Tuesday with a high of 82 degrees. But that warm weather is not here to stay.

Valerie Meyers is a meteorologist for the National Weather Service. She says toward the end of this week, temperatures will come closer to the average for this time of year.

“Our average normal temperature is around 65 degrees at this time of the year,” Meyers said. “What was more anomalous was the fact that it got so warm, and that was due to the high pressure that was in place.”

The temperatures will start dropping today and will be down to the low 60s and upper 50s by Friday and Saturday. The cooler weather will be paired with some rain. Meyers says the metro area could see up to a quarter-inch of rain between Thursday evening and Friday.
