Even before Detroit's bankruptcy, there was an "Us vs. Them" attitude between the city and its suburbs.
21 Detained, 850 Pounds Of Marijuana Seized In Separate Incidents
Border Patrol agents have foiled two more drug smuggling efforts. Spokesman Enrique Zarate says 21 people were detained, and nearly 850 pounds of marijuana was seized in separate incidents. He says it took some time to do it after a dozen backpacks and one suspect were initially located in the desert outside Wellton.
“It was almost two or three days worth of tracking there to be able to apprehend all of the suspects and that’s how vast and just out in the middle of nowhere this area is,” Zarate said.
He says the number of instances of smugglers delivering drugs in backpacks tends to increase as temperatures go down in the fall.
