States Spent Less On Medicaid Last Fiscal Year But Are Budgeting To Spend More

Spending on Medicaid dropped nationwide during the 2019 fiscal year, coinciding with a decrease in enrollment in the health care program.

States, however, are already planning on spending more going forward. Those are among the findings of an annual survey of state Medicaid directors done by the Kaiser Family Foundation and others.

To talk about what they found, The Show reached out to Robin Rudowitz, vice president with the Kaiser Family Foundation.
