Rate increase ahead for SRP customers

Nearly 1 million SRP customers can expect slightly higher bills starting in November.

The utility company’s board of directors unanimously approved a 3.9 percent rate increase Thursday. It'll average just over $6 dollars per month for residential customers.

SRP expects the rate hike to create $100 million in revenue to fund environmental upgrades, reliable service and renewable energy sources.
