The state Democratic Party will be holding a preference election in March, and independent voters want in.

One-third of Arizona's registered voters are independents. And in Arizona, that designation — or lack thereof — means those voters can participate in primary elections by simply selecting one party's ballot. Easy!

But that's not the case in presidential preference elections, which are only open to members of a specific party.

If Arizona independents want to participate in the Democratic presidential preference election in March, they'd have to first change their party. And that has people across the political spectrum demanding change.

The Show shares one perspective from Tim Castro with Independent Voters of Arizona.
