Arizona’s K-12 schools will receive $21 million more than last year. School districts will receive $342 million in the fiscal year 2020.

The money comes from investments made from last year’s sales of state lands.

Arizona State Treasurer Kimberly Yee says out of the 13 beneficiaries for the funds, K-12 education is the largest beneficiary.

“We have a long history of investing dollars for education in this office," Yee said. "It's my commitment as the state treasurer to continue doing that but increasing that as we can. We are at record highs, and we're proud of our work. But the winner in all of this is our public schools and our students."

Yee said the amount is different each year depending on the land values and land sales.
