The Uber smartphone application allows customers to connect with drivers in the area.

Uber launched its Spanish service Monday. Phoenix is one of the three cities the ride-sharing company is offering the program.

UberESPAÑOL is available in Phoenix, Tucson and San Diego. Riders will now be able to request Spanish-speaking drivers.

The company said on its website it has heard from riders and drivers they want the Uber experience to reflect the multilingual aspects of multicultural communities.
