Economists Say Arizona Job Growth Will Be In Mostly Low-Paying Jobs

The Arizona Department of Administration predicts a 2.2 percent job growth this year. That’s up slightly from the 2.1 percent growth the state has seen for the last three years.

But state economist Aruna Murthy says nearly three quarters of those jobs will be low paying.

"There are a lot of entry level positions. So Arizona may be a good market to find entry level positions," Murthy said. "But once you reach mid-career, there may be limited options. I wouldn't say there are no options. But there are limited options."

Murthy expects job growth to continue through 2016.
