Firefighters worked into the evening Thursday night to secure the edges of the Orme Fire burning near Prescott.

The blaze broke out Thursday morning just southeast of Dewey, Arizona. It has been reduced to 1.3 square miles.

Debbie Maneely  is a spokeswoman with the Prescott National Forest. She said crews kept the fire from reaching any major structures.

“Today and tomorrow they will spend the days securing the perimeter, extinguishing any interior hot spots and continuing to mop up," Maneely said.

Maneely said they’re hoping to have 100 percent containment by Saturday afternoon.
