Enrollment For Federal Health Exchange Ends Sunday
The deadline for enrollment in the federal health care exchange is Sunday, and the White House is making one final push to encourage people to sign up.
Senior Advisor to President Barack Obama, Valerie Jarrett, says it’s not uncommon for people to put off enrollment.
"People tend to wait until the last minute. During the last enrollment period we certainly saw a surge near the end and we're counting on that as well, but we don't want to take anything for granted," Jarrett said.
Jarrett said the administration is trying to get the word out by sharing stories of people who have been positively impacted by having coverage.
"What better Valentine’s gift than to sign up for you and for your loved one?" she said.
According to the White House, as of Feb. 6 more than 120,000 people in the Phoenix area have signed up or renewed their coverage through the health insurance marketplace.
