After a revamp of its iconic mascot prompted mass derision, Arizona State University has unveiled another new design for Sparky the Sun Devil. But this time, the university community had a say.

Victims of gun violence gathered Thursday outside Senator Jeff Flake’s Phoenix office. They pleaded with the senator to explain his recent vote against background checks for gun sales.

The final canvass of votes in Maricopa County was approved Monday. Though the vote count is over, possible changes to the election system could be on the way.
