American Airlines has experienced major delays today due to a computer glitch. Over Twitter, the airline announced it was grounded nationwide until 2 p.m. Mountain time.

One of the busier airports in the country is throwing conventional food wisdom out the window. You can still get a McDonald’s Big Mac or a Starbucks' Frappucino at Sky Harbor in Phoenix, but the airport is in the midst of a major upgrade that will bring local restaurants into a space that is typically reserved for mega-corporate chains.

After more than a year of speculation and negotiation, the merger between US Airways and American Airlines is official. The new airline will keep American’s name and be worth about $11 billion. As KJZZ’s Nick Blumberg reports, the merger creates the largest carrier in the world. 

Janitors who clean Sky Harbor International Airport gathered Tuesday night to protest their working conditions.

A passenger train made its debut today at Sky Harbor Airport. Sky Train, as its called, should begin moving passengers to and from Terminal Four by early next year. 

Travelers flying through Gateway Airport in Mesa will soon be able to access the east side of the airport more easily. The Arizona Department of Transportation will break ground Tuesday on a new state route they’re calling the Gateway Freeway.
