April marks the start of Ozone Season in the Valley, which runs through
September -- a longer-than-average season for higher levels of ozone
pollution.
Friday will be the eighth day this year the Valley’s been under a high pollution warning. Continued high temperatures could lead to more ozone advisories through the weekend.
A year-end report on Maricopa County’s air quality shows last year was one of the worst on record. As KJZZ’s Paul Atkinson reports from Phoenix, dust storms and pollution from California played a major role.
