Abuse of fireworks could mean petty offense

The punishment for the abuse of Arizona's fireworks laws would be reduced, under a bill approved by the state House.

Public safety advocates are spreading the word that although it's legal to buy fireworks any place in Arizona, it's illegal to use them in many places.  From Phoenix, KJZZ's Lynn Kelly reports.

It's now legal to buy and distribute fireworks in Arizona...but it's not legal to use them in various cities due to concerns about brush fires and safety.
