Trumpeter Eddie Henderson, who began his career with the San Francisco orchestra, played with Herbie Hancock, Pharoah Sanders, and groove master Charles Earland. As a teen when he met Miles Davis he corrected his trumpet technique! When he wasn't playing with jazz greats or leading his own band, he worked as a physician for 10 years. He said that music helped pay his way through medical school. His own music has groove and melody and plenty of trumpet chops.
