Eighty students symbolically entered the medical profession
on Friday with the annual White Coat ceremony for the newest class at the
University of Arizona College of Medicine in Phoenix.
Among them was Katy Coyne who says this rite-of-passage ceremony takes
place two weeks into the first year of medical school.

As prosecutors and defense attorneys prepare for a new trial
for death row inmate Debra Milke, a German man who created a website
proclaiming her innocence is watching closely. Frank Aue says he met Milke in
prison in 2000 and does not believe she's a murderer.

Senator John McCain is calling for a study of 'stand your ground'
laws across the country. On CNN's State of the Union, Sunday, McCain was asked
if he thought that included the Arizona
law.
“Yes, I do,” McCain said.

Damaging storms are causing some to question how much climate change is costing Arizona. A look at insurance data suggests it could be more than a billion dollars a year and rising. Critics say it's impossible to prove climate change has caused any specific natural disaster, but Laurie Johnson of the Natural Resources Defense Council says a pattern is emerging.

A monsoon storm that rolled through metro Phoenix on Sunday morning brought about a half
inch of rain and sent water rushing through washes while flooding streets and

The Tucson Unified School District may revise its anti-tobacco policy to include a ban on electronic cigarettes on school grounds. The district’s governing board is set to vote on the proposal this week.

Extra clean up crews will be on the streets of Ahwatukee Saturday. They will be out there for several more days cleaning up the mess left behind by a storm earlier this week. So far city crews have removed more than 100 tons of trees, branches, leaves and other green waste as well as another three tons of debris.

Allegiant Air is facing criticism for a two-hour
delay Wednesday that left passengers stuck onboard with little air
conditioning. The airline said the delay at Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport was
necessary for safety reasons.
