A DPS officer and his wife face multiple years in prison after being convicted by a Santa Cruz County jury on conspiracy, money laundering and theft charges. Arizona Attorney General Tom Horne says Horacio and Carmen Lomelil were found guilty of taking checks from her employer, Nogales-based Sierra Seed, and depositing the money in their personal checking account, over a five year period.

The Mohave County Sheriff's Office says it'll take several more days to decide whether a tour bus driver will be charged for trying to cross a flooded wash, Sunday, near Dolan Springs. Spokeswoman Trish Carter says the driver may be responsible for rescue efforts if it's found he ignored barriers or warning signs to cross the flooded area, but that it'll be up to the county attorney's office in the end.

The City of Mesa has landed its sixth university in the last two years. Grand Canyon University announced Tuesday that its new East Valley campus would be built in Mesa. The new East Valley campus of GCU will be built in Mesa.

A teenager has been arrested for vandalizing 16 saguaros and spraying dozens of other tags at Saguaro National Park east of Tucson. The black spray paint was discovered along a 3-mile stretch of the Douglas Spring Trail in May.

Recent monsoon rain showers have cut off the water supply on the Havasupai reservation. In response, St. Mary’s Food Bank will start shipping water to the Grand Canyon Wednesday morning. St. Mary’s said it is sending 30,000 bottles of water to the Havasupai Nation because torrential rain and flooding have damaged the area’s electrical supply.

Valley bus drivers and the Valley Metro System management team continue labor negotiations through Wednesday.The two groups have been in talks this entire month. The temporary contract bus drivers have been working with expires Wednesday.

U.S. Interior Secretary Sally Jewell has signed the last of four American Indian water rights settlements approved by President Obama in 2010. The deal signed Tuesday will fund a water delivery system for the White Mountain Apache Tribe in eastern Arizona.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is holding a meeting in Sierra Vista Tuesday to listen to comments from the public on a proposal to set aside more than 1,300 square miles in Arizona and New Mexico for the endangered jaguar, but the Arizona Game and Fish Department does not agree.
