The Tonto National Forest is reminding people who may be out in the woods over the Fourth of July holiday that fire conditions are now extreme.  Forest spokesman David Albo said that means no fires, incendiary devices, fireworks or shooting.

Border Patrol agents in southern Arizona have seized a ton of marijuana they found hidden in a truckload of produce. The vehicle was stopped at a checkpoint on Interstate 19, north of Nogales, and spokeswoman Crystal Amarillas said drug-sniffing dogs located 88 bundles of pot hidden in a false wall, inside the trailer.

The Department of Public Safety said a wrong-way driver on State Route 51 was probably impaired as he sped north in the southbound lanes in early-morning traffic. "At least 100 mph plus, weaving in and out of traffic and apparently showing no regard for the safety of anybody else on the road," DPS spokesman Bar Graves said.
