A bomb threat forced a Southwest Airlines flight to be diverted to Phoenix on Tuesday afternoon. The FBI and a police bomb squad were among the agencies that responded to the threat.    Sky Harbor International Aiport remained open after a plane was diverted to the aiport due to a bomb threat.

The Arizona House has passed legislation that would allow school boards to increase local property taxes.The House voted thirty one to twenty six to advance House Bill 2399. It would allow school districts to set bond limits of up to twenty percent of the tax base, up from the current limit of up to ten percent.

One man has died and five hikers had to be rescued amid dangerously hot temperatures Saturday.  It all happened in White Rock Canyon, along the Arizona-Nevada border about eight miles from Boulder City.

Road construction begins this weekend on a new detour for U.S. 89 in northern Arizona. Navajo Route 20 will redirect drivers around US 89, and paving of the dirt road is expected to finish in August. In February, a landslide ripped apart 500 feet of the road on U.

A rare and dangerous illness has claimed the life of a Northern Arizonan.  Coconino County health officials say a woman from the Flagstaff area has died from complications of hantavirus, which is spread by infected urine, droppings, and/or saliva of wild rodents.
