Fewer Arizonans had their vehicles stolen last year than in
2011. The numbers come from the National Insurance Crime Bureau.
They find of the top ten hot spot spots nationwide for vehicle theft last year,
eight were in California.

Immigration
and Customs Enforcement officers say they've shut down an incomplete
drug-smuggling tunnel under the border at Nogales.
Spokeswoman Amber Cargile says the finding came during a routine inspection of
the main storm drain system on both sides of the border.

Arizona drivers are seeing
continued price stability with the statewide average now at $3.49-a-gallon or
about the same as a week ago. AAA Arizona spokeswoman Michelle Donatti says
that's mainly the result of the slow
rise in the price of crude oil.

Luke
Air Force Base officials are admitting they now have an idea why an F-16 fighter jet crashed near the base late
Wednesday. Brigadier General Mike Rothstein commands the 56th Fighter Wing at
Luke, and says the jet may have hit a bird.

Three more F-35 squadrons are being assigned to Luke Air Force Base. That is in addition to the three squadrons already designated for the base west of Phoenix. The fighters are scheduled to be arrive next year.

Firefighters are expected to work the Doce Wildfire near Prescott through the weekend. The blaze is now 90 percent contained, and mop up operations are ready to begin. The human-caused wildfire started June 18.
