Mail heading for Tucson will be processed in Phoenix starting this year.  The U.S. Postal Service originally planned on the change next year, but moved up the date, as part of a its plan to save money.

A bill to allow school employees to carry guns is scheduled for a hearing Wednesday afternoon in a state House committee. The measure would apply to schools that have fewer than 600 students, do not have school resource officers and are more than 20 miles and 30 minutes from a law enforcement facility.

At a forum Tuesday evening, the Arizona Civil Rights Advisory Board heard testimony from members of the public about the impact of Arizona's immigration law SB 1070. The advisory board is gathering information about the implementation law in order to make future recommendations.

Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton says gun owners can turn in their unwanted firearms at the city’s buyback program in May.  The city is using money from a private donor to give out gift cards to anyone who wants to get rid of their weapons.

John McCain told people at a townhall meeting Monday he feels hopeful new bipartisan legislation to reform immigration will be ready soon.
