The Maricopa Medical Center is more than 40 years old. Administrators say they are spending up to millions of dollars a year to keep the leaking, cracking, aging building patched together.Wednesday afternoon the board that oversees the hospital will meet to decide what the future could be for the state’s only public hospital.

A recent inspection of commercial buses at Grand Canyon National Park removed more than two dozen from service. The two-day inspection of about 200 vehicles took place last week and included a check on drivers' credentials.

The Mayo Clinic plans to integrate its cancer treatment programs in Phoenix. The project will add on to a facility already under construction.  The Mayo Clinic’s Proton Beam Therapy Center is slated to open in 2016 and provide targeted radiation treatments.

A state commission has given Governor Jan Brewer three options for her next Arizona Supreme Court appointment. The Commission on Appellate Court Appointments nominated court of appeals judges Ann Scott Timmer and Diane Johnsen and Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Douglas Rayes.

Romaine lettuce shipped to 19 states, including Arizona, may be contaminated with E. coli bacteria. A Northern California producer supplier is voluntarily recalling its Field Fresh Wrapped Single Head Romaine lettuce and may have a "best by" date of Aug.

Homeowners in Maricopa County might see their property taxes drop by up to $20, and that means less money for the county.  The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors voted 4-1 Monday to keep the current property tax rate.
