Arizona has won a federal grant to try to intervene before alcohol and substance use becomes an addiction. The $7.5 million will set up a program of early screening at several community health centers and one emergency room in Northern Arizona.

All but two of Arizona's county attorneys have signed a letter to Governor Jan Brewer asking her to stop the licensing of medical marijuana patients and dispensaries. They say it's too dangerous for the state to run a program that violates federal law.

Health officials here in Arizona are urging hundreds of people to seek testing for hepatitis C. As KJZZ's Mark Moran reports, patients at hospitals in the city could have been exposed. Health officials are warning almost 300 people who were treated at two Phoenix hospitals that they may have been exposed to hepatitis C.
