MARK BRODIE: Forty-five states and the federal government alleged Abbott marketed its drug, Depakote, for uses not approved by the Food and Drug Administration.

Federal authorities have accused four Arizona women of fraudulently collecting student financial aid money. From Phoenix, KJZZ’s Nick Blumberg has more. Three Glendale women and an inmate at the Perryville women’s prison were indicted on charges of wire fraud, conspiracy, identity theft, and stealing public funds.

 The proposal to reimburse former State Senate President Russell Pearce for the costs of the recall election that ousted him from office last fall is dead. Lawmakers approved the provision in committee on Wednesday, but couldn’t garner enough support in the senate to move the bill forward.
