It looks like the Department of Justice is going ahead with plans to sue Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio over alleged civil rights violations.The latest letter from DOJ to the sheriff says there will be more no more telephone communications.

State Representative Daniel Patterson of Tucson resigned Wednesday from the Arizona House of Representatives. That came shortly after the House Ethics Committee recommended to the full chamber that Patterson be expelled.

The U.S. Education Department has requested information from the Maricopa County Community College District, and a civil rights organization says the District’s practices are under investigation. The Civil Rights Center is a Phoenix-based non-profit.
